My name is Laura and I am a modern housewife. I'm married with no children, but am mother to two Cavalier Spaniels, Lily and Oliver. I have a career in public relations and stay busy with work, networking events, community activities, cooking, blogging and maintaining my home.
Initially, I started my blog because I wanted to help other modern housewives and future modern housewives by sharing cooking, shopping and entertaining tips, as well as recipes and funny stories. What started out as a hobby has turned into a passion and I hope one day a successful business. In addition to sharing recipes, I am available for private catering and cooking lessons.
The summer of 2010 an opportunity came to me to write for Examiner.com as the Tampa Food Examiner. Much like A Modern Housewife, I share recipes with my readers and write about food. Additionally, I write about local restaurants and food companies, as well as alert Tampa residents of upcoming food festivals, markets, events and specials. My personal goal with Tampa Food Examiner is to highlight local businesses and encourage others to support them.
I hope you enjoy and I encourage interaction. I also collect cookbooks and love chick lit, so if you have any recommendations for either, please do share. Follow me on Twitter at www.twitter.com/lafontanills and if you'd like to book me for a cooking lesson or have me cook at your next private party, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
